- Receive and review claims documents and coordinate with claimants
- Interview claimant(s) and/or witnesses to gather pertinent information
- Conduct an actual investigation or inspection to determine the veracity of the loss and the extent of the insurance company's liability concerning personal, casualty, or property loss or damages
- Gather pertinent documents and examine their validity and consistency
- Verify the coverage applies through an insurance policy and its premium payment
- Evaluate the loss to ascertain the compensation amount or the company's liability
- Conduct necessary canvassing of parts prices relating to the claims filed
- Negotiate the assessment with the claimant to settle the claim
- Prepare and/or issue Evaluation, Final Offer, Letter of Authority to Repair, and/or Final Recommendation for payment
- Prepare and send Denial Letters and/or Demand Letter in the case of denied and with recovery claims.
- Segregate claims documents for forwarding to accounting and/or to head office
