Overview
Cervical cancer is both preventable and curable when detected early, yet it remains the second most common cancer among Filipino women, with approximately 12 women dying from the disease each day.
Jhpiego, an international non-profit organization affiliated with Johns Hopkins University, partners with governments, health professionals, and communities to advance innovations that save lives and improve the health of women and families. In the Philippines, Jhpiego collaborates with the Department of Health (DOH), local government units, the private sector, and civil society to help fulfill the country's commitmentto the WHO Global Strategy to Accelerate the Elimination of Cervical Cancer as a Public Health Problem by 2030.
The SUCCESS (Scale-Up Cervical Cancer Elimination through Secondary Prevention Strategy) project supports this commitment by increasing access to optimal screening and early treatment technologies through capacity building, demand generation and community engagement, and demonstrating innovative service delivery models.
Responsibilities
Jhpiego is engaging a Technical Writerto work in collaboration with the project’s technical team, and communications team to write, develop, consolidate, and refine the content of the following project-level technical products (toolkits, handbooks, and reference guides):
These materials will be turned over to the DOH and are intended to inform policy, guide clinical practice, and support advocacy efforts toward a sustainable and effective cervical cancer control program.
Required Qualifications
- Higher Education in the areas of development management, public health management, health policy or public policy, social sciences, health systems strengthening, or health governance
- Completed a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in technical writing particularly in developing training manuals, standard operating procedures and service delivery guidelines in the field of public health, or social welfare and development.
- Demonstrated experience in writing and editing technical manuals, toolkits, training guides, or SOPs for a health or development audience.
- Strong ability to synthesize and translate complex information into clear, concise, and userfriendly content.
- Familiarity with public health topics, particularly women’s health, cancer prevention, and reproductive health is an an advantage.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, including designers, technical experts, and policy advocates.
- Excellent command of written English and professional editing standards.
- Ability to align content with Jhpiego branding, language tone, and style guidelines.
- Proven capacity to deliver quality outputs under tight timelines with minimal supervision.
