· College level with formal culinary education or completing a culinary program.
· 3-5 Years work experience as a Cook.
· Must possess a strong understanding of food preparation techniques and should be able to follow recipes accurately and have a good understanding of flavors, seasoning, and plating.
· Must have a good knowledge of different ingredients, including their qualities, uses, and seasonality. Must be familiar with various types of meats, vegetables, herbs, spices, and other common ingredients used in cooking.
· Working in a fast-paced environment, need excellent time management skills to ensure that food is prepared and served on time. Should be able to do multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently under pressure.
· Effective communication skills, can communicate well with other staff to ensure smooth operations in a timely service.
· Must adhere to strict cleanliness and hygiene standards. This includes proper handwashing, maintaining a clean workstation, following food safety protocols, and handling food safely to prevent contamination.
· In culinary industry can be physically demanding. Must be required to stand for long periods, lift heavy pots and pans, and work in hot environments. Physical stamina and endurance are important to meet the demands of the job.
· Should be able to think quickly on their feet and handle any unexpected challenges that arise in the kitchen. They may need to adjust recipes, troubleshoot equipment issues, or handle last-minute changes in orders.
· Ability to work well within a team and adapt to changing circumstances. Must be able to collaborate with other staff and work harmoniously to deliver quality service.
