Reporting to the Mobilization Superintendent and/or Maintenance Superintendent, the crane rigger is responsible and accountable for the safe & precise rigging of load to be lifted, move, position & spotting on designated place & location.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensure that both the rigger & crane operator is familiar with method of signaling to be used prior to lifting operation.
2. Always use clear & distinct hand signal in accordance with accepted standard to control lifting operation.
3. Be aware of the wind direction & speed to minimize movement of the load when lifting.
4. Ensure that no load is to be lifted where the weight is not stated or unknown.
5. Be familiar with lifting capacity of crane & load to be lifted.
6. Check all lifting gears being used in good & safe working condition & of sufficient capacity to carry out the lift.
7. Ensure taglines are in place & attached to the load that are likely to swing.
8. Be aware of any obstruction within the crane radius & working area.
9. Check that the area around the load to be lifted is clear & that load is not attached to the floor, transport cradle or adjacent equipment.
10. Ensure that no personnel are below the load while lifting in progress.
11. Observe & check other activities within the crane’s operating area to eliminate risks & unforeseen hazards.
12. When lifting a load, check the security & balance of the load.
13. Secure appropriate shackles & hook blocks when lifting & see to it that they conform with the load to be lifted.
14. Complete JSAE prior to lifting activities.
15. Place wooden flanks & outriggers in stable ground condition to prevent capsizing when lifting heavy loads.
16. Ensure road blocks, safety signages, traffic cones & caution tape when lifting in busy roads or isolated areas.
17. Fill-up the equipment rental form for third party services requiring the usage of crane & submit accomplished form to Maintenance Admin Staff for rental billing.
18. Adhere to the company safety and environment policy & procedure including proper housekeeping, fuel leaks & oil spillage.
19. Perform other related tasks as assigned by his immediate superior from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
1. High school or Vocational/Technical course graduate would be an advantage.
2. At least one (1) year minimum field & actual crane rigging experiences.
3. Knowledge of basic lifting operations, identify hand signals, weight limits, safety regulations & communicate with the crane operator.
4. Third party certificate essential
