Key Responsibilities:
- Policy and Procedure Development:
- Develop, implement, and update credit investigation and appraisal policies to comply with regulations and company standards.
- Communicate and ensure consistent application of policies to stakeholders.
- Credit Investigation Oversight:
- Oversee thorough credit investigations for individuals and businesses, verifying financial, employment, and credit history information.
- Maintain quality control to ensure accurate and timely investigation reports.
- Asset Appraisal Management:
- Manage the appraisal process for various collateral types, ensuring accurate valuations by external appraisers.
- Review and ensure compliance with appraisal regulations and professional standards.
- Risk Management and Portfolio Quality:
- Contribute to credit risk management by identifying and mitigating risks related to credit investigations and appraisals.
- Collaborate with underwriting to improve portfolio quality based on investigation and appraisal findings.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate reports on credit investigation and appraisal metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies for credit investigations and appraisals.
- Stay updated on industry changes and participate in audits as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Certifications: Licensed Real Estate Appraiser
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in credit investigation and/or asset appraisal, ideally within a financing company or bank.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of collateral valuation techniques and appraisal standards.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
