Position Concept:
The Development Manager is responsible for the management of the Solar Village Foundation’s (SVF) fund raising activities to generate resources for its current and future programs and other needs. He/she will be responsible for implementing the SVF fund raising plan, developing, coordinating and implementing its fundraising strategies, managing donor relationships, conceptualizing fund raising-related communications collaterals and ensuring that fund raising support systems and processes are in place and working efficiently. Specifically, the Development Officer’s key duties include:
1. Assisting the Chairman of the Fundraising Committee and the Executive Director in ensuring the efficient implementation of the SVF Fund Raising Plan by conceptualizing, organizing, and executing fund raising activities and campaigns and ensuring that all activities are within the unit budget.
2. Assisting the Chairman of the Fundraising Committee in coordinating all fundraising meetings and events, including scheduling, preparing and distributing meeting materials, making presentations, meeting documentation and providing other on-site support.
3. Working with external consultants, partners and suppliers on organizing and enhancing SVF’s fund raising activities.
4. Establishing, managing and maintaining the organization’s fundraising database and other support systems and processes.
5. Managing the organization’s Donor and Partner Care Program.
6. Conducting potential donor research and proposal-writing.
7. In collaboration with the Communications Officer, developing fund raising collaterals, campaign promotions, and donor care and management materials.
8. Coordinating with the Program Unit and Communications Officer in identifying the needed materials and information to be gathered and maximizing the utilization of these for donor care activities and impact reports.
9. In coordination with the Finance unit, developing status, progress, and results documentation, and gathering financial reports for the monitoring, reporting, evaluation, and analysis of fundraising campaigns and activities.
10. Conducting media monitoring to identify fund raising opportunities for the organization.
11. Performing additional assignments relevant to SVF’s fund raising objectives, and/or other activities that the Development and Communications Director may require.

Qualities Required
▪ At least 5-year experience working in a non-profit fundraising role
▪ Proven leadership and ability to build an organization’s fundraising program
▪ A track record of successful fundraising
▪ Strong background in donor management, identification, research and project management
▪ Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Community and Rural Development or related fields ▪ Knowledge of and experience in the development sector
▪ Real concern for the issues affecting Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA)
▪ Excellent communication and presentation skills
