Generic Job Summary: The Disaster Recovery Specialist will serve the company by developing and leading the strategy, planning, implementation, execution, testing, and maintenance for all aspects of Vertiv’s Disaster Recovery (DR) processes. The Disaster Recovery Specialist will work closely with Information Technology leadership, Business leaders, and Functional teams to ensure Disaster Recovery capabilities meet the Recovery Time and Recovery Point objectives as defined by Business Impact Analyses and business requirements.
Business Unit Job Summary: Responsible for developing and managing plans and testing for Disaster Recovery. Works in conjunction with Technology team members, data center partners, and other stakeholders to create recovery strategies and plans. Tests recovery plans and documents test results. Manages and coordinates Disaster Recovery operational activities and work closely with the Business Continuity team to mitigate any effects on the ability to conduct business in the event of a disaster.

- The Specialist will communicate the Business Continuity Lifecycle process and work with Vertiv Business Units and Technology Teams to ensure and maintain the lifecycle process.
- Oversees the documentation of Disaster Recovery plans and conducts test and exercises.
- Lead and support the development and training on business continuity, disaster recovery, and crisis management for the Vertiv organization.
- Develops disaster recovery plans. Experience in writing and documenting procedures or processes.
- Coordinate the review, maintenance and testing of technology Disaster Recovery Plans for core infrastructure services and applications, working with Information Technology and Infrastructure management
- Testing; experience in performing various types of disaster recovery testing. This includes Table Top Testing, Emergency Drills, Technology Tests, Functional Testing, etc.
- Crisis Management; experience in supporting crisis meetings and managing a disaster event.
- Experience with vendors; working with vendors on recovery planning and testing.
- Reporting; assists the Business Continuity Manager in the reporting of the progress and compliance of business continuity processes, readiness, events and test or exercise results.
- Must speak fluent English and be able to work with
Bachelor’s Degree required, with 1-3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) is a plus.

- Experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Technology, Information Security, Risk Management, or related field
- Knowledge of Business Continuity Management practices and protocols, including in-depth knowledge of international Business Continuity Methodology standards promoted by Business Continuity Institute and International Organization of Standards, Disaster Recovery Institute International.
- Reasonable depth of exposure or understanding of Business Continuity Management processes and best practices.
- High degree of organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Must have strong proficiency with SharePoint, MS Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word. Smartsheet experience is a plus.
- Incident or crisis management experience.
- Must be self-starter, adaptable and flexible to operate with minimal direction and little or no supervision while working in a complex and changing environment.
- Exercise independent judgment and discretion with ability to identify problems and make recommendations for resolution.
- Demonstrated leadership, strong dedication to teamwork and integrity within professional environment.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
