Urgent Hiring for Environmental Officer
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Forestry, or related field
- Proven experience in biodiversity assessments and compliance monitoring in accordance with DAO 2022-04
- Proficient in conducting field surveys, ecological assessments, and species identification
- Strong knowledge of conservation methods, habitat mapping, and environmental risk assessment
- Must have experience in dealing with government agencies (e.g. LGUs, MGB, DENR, Brgy and Municipal Offices)
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the on-site Pollution Control Officer to ensure environmental protection measures are effectively implemented
- Lead and participate in biodiversity and ecological surveys, monitoring species presence and population trends in project areas
- Collect, record, and analyze ecological and environmental data to support compliance reporting and environmental impact assessments
- Manage audit processes and ensure full regulatory compliance with the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) and other relevant agencies
- Support environmental management plans by recommending and implementing conservation strategies and mitigation measures
- Participate in community engagement initiatives to promote awareness and stewardship of local biodiversity
- Contribute to impactful environmental conservation projects, helping to maintain ecosystem balance and meet sustainability goals
