JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Managing All Guest Rooms:
1. Ensure that all guest rooms are cleaned, prepared, and maintained to the highest standards. This includes the overall cleanliness of the room and the condition of bedding, linens, and towels.
2. Oversee the turnover of rooms, ensuring quick and efficient cleaning, replenishment of amenities, and replacement of linens and bedding after guest check-out.
3. Supervise the correct storage and handling of linens and bedding to prevent damage or contamination.
4. Regularly inspect rooms to ensure bedding is in perfect condition and that all room amenities (e.g., toiletries, towels) are adequately stocked.
Bedding and Linen Management
1. Ensure that bedding (sheets, blankets, duvet covers) and linens (towels, bath mats) are replaced regularly and are in excellent condition.
2. Manage the inventory of bedding and linens, ensuring that the hotel is fully stocked with clean, high-quality items for guest rooms.
3. Organize the laundry process for bedding, towels, and linens to maintain hygiene standards, including the replacement and storage of clean items.
4. Handle guest requests for specific bedding (e.g., hypoallergenic pillows, extra sheets) and make necessary arrangements.
Inventory and Supply Management:
1. Track and manage the inventory of linens, bedding, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and other essential amenities.
2. Ensure stock levels of these supplies are adequate, and reorder when necessary, while staying within budget constraints.
3. Maintain proper storage and organization of bedding, linens, and cleaning supplies to ensure accessibility and cleanliness.
Staff Supervision and Scheduling:
1. Lead and supervise housekeeping staff responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms, including making beds and replacing linens and bedding.
2. Schedule housekeeping staff to ensure that all rooms are cleaned on time, and that all linens and bedding are properly prepared for guests.
3. Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing training and guidance to ensure high standards of cleanliness and efficiency in managing bedding and linens.
Room Readiness and Guest Satisfaction:
1. Ensure that rooms are ready for guests upon arrival, with clean bedding, fresh linens, and necessary amenities.
2. Respond promptly to guest requests for additional bedding, special pillow preferences, or room changes.
3. Address guest concerns related to the cleanliness of their bedding or linens, ensuring swift resolution to maintain high satisfaction.
Quality Control and Inspections:
1. Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms to ensure that bedding, linens, and other guest essentials meet the hotel’s cleanliness and quality standards.
2. Verify that all beds are made properly, linens are free from stains or damage, and that amenities are adequately stocked.
3. Ensure that rooms are prepared according to hotel standards, including the proper arrangement of bedding and room setup.
Health and Safety Compliance:
1. Ensure that all cleaning practices, including the handling of bedding and linens, comply with health and safety regulations.
2. Train housekeeping staff on the safe handling of chemicals, equipment, and laundry processes.
3. Ensure that the use of bedding and linens meets cleanliness standards, such as using disinfectants and hypoallergenic materials when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A high school diploma or equivalent (required).
2. Male / Female
4. A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field is preferred.
5. Previous experience in the hotel industry is highly preferred, especially within the housekeeping department. Experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor, Assistant Housekeeping Manager, or Housekeeper is ideal
6. Experience managing guest rooms, bedding, and other hotel essentials such as towels, linens, toiletries, and amenities is crucial.
7. Strong background in overseeing the turnover of rooms, ensuring that they are thoroughly cleaned and properly stocked with all necessary items for guest use.
8. Hands-on experience in coordinating the replacement and inventory of bedding and other guest essentials such as linens, towels, and amenities.
· Skills:
1. Room and Bedding Management: Ability to oversee the cleaning, maintenance, and turnover of all guest rooms, including ensuring the proper handling, storage, and replacement of bedding, linens, and towels.
2. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities, particularly when managing a team of housekeeping staff tasked with room cleaning and linen management.
3. Attention to Detail: The ability to ensure that rooms, bedding, and all guest essentials meet the hotel's high cleanliness and quality standards.
4. Organizational Skills: Efficiently managing room assignments, cleaning schedules, and ensuring the timely replacement of linens, bedding, and other essential items.
5. Inventory Management: Ability to track and manage inventory levels of linens, bedding, toiletries, and other amenities, ensuring that there is always an adequate supply for daily operations.
6. Customer Service: Effectively addressing guest complaints or requests related to room cleanliness, bedding quality, or any missing items.
7. Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly address issues such as room damage, missing bedding, or other guest-related concerns regarding rooms and supplies.
8. Certifications (Optional but Beneficial):
A. Certified Hospitality Supervisor (CHS): A certification that demonstrates a professional level of expertise in managing housekeeping staff and operations, including room and bedding management.
B. Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA): An advanced certification indicating a comprehensive understanding of hotel management, including the management of guest rooms and bedding.
C. Workplace Safety Certifications: Knowledge of proper safety protocols for handling cleaning chemicals, bedding, and linen to ensure staff and guest safety.
· Physical Requirements:
A. Ability to handle physical tasks such as organizing and managing linens, bedding, and cleaning supplies.
B. Capability to supervise housekeeping staff in physically demanding tasks, such as making beds, washing and storing linens, and deep cleaning rooms.
