Job Description:
- Building Maintenance and Operations:
- Ensuring the facility is in good condition, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systems.
- Performing routine inspections and addressing any issues promptly.
- Managing waste disposal, recycling, and other facility-related services.
- Ensuring proper security measures and monitoring systems.
- Contractor and Vendor Management:
- Overseeing and managing contracts with cleaning, security, maintenance, and other vendors.
- Negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance.
- Coordinating with contractors for repairs and projects.
- People Management and Staff Supervision:
- Supervising cleaning, maintenance, and security staff.
- Training and developing staff on best practices and procedures.
- Managing staffing budgets and payroll.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
- Implementing and monitoring safety procedures and protocols.
- Managing emergency preparedness and response.
- Budgeting and Financial Management:
- Managing budgets for maintenance, repairs, and contracts.
- Tracking expenses and preparing financial reports.
- Ensuring cost-effective procurement of inventory.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Managing office moves and space planning.
- Handling general accounting tasks.
- Participating in meetings and sharing input.
- Maintaining records and documentation.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering (civil, electrical, mechanical), or business administration is generally required.
- 5-10 years of experience in facilities management or a related field is often preferred.
- Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety), building management systems, and experience with facilities and equipment expansion are valuable.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are essential for overseeing a team, managing vendors, and addressing complex issues.
