JOB SUMMARY
The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing all human resource operations for three companies: Webforest, a web development firm; Sellout Trading, a luxury perfume brand; and Koufuku, a Japanese restaurant. The HR Manager will implement and manage HR policies, recruitment processes, employee relations, performance management, and compliance across all businesses. This role requires the ability to adapt HR strategies to different industries while ensuring that each company’s HR needs are met effectively and consistently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Develop and execute recruitment strategies for hiring across all three companies, ensuring the right talent is recruited for each organization.
- Webforest: Focus on technical roles (web developers, designers, project managers).
- Sellout Trading: Recruit talent for marketing, product development, and retail positions.
- Koufuku: Recruit hospitality staff, including chefs, servers, and kitchen staff.
- Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires and an introduction to each company’s unique culture.
- Manage the job posting, interviewing, and hiring process in collaboration with department heads from each business.
2. HR Policy Development and Compliance:
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with each company's needs, industry standards, and legal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, and industry-specific standards across all three businesses.
- Koufuku: Ensure food safety and restaurant labor laws are adhered to.
- Webforest and Sellout Trading: Focus on IT and retail industry standards, including work-from-home policies and retail operational regulations.
3. Employee Relations and Engagement:
- Foster a positive working environment across all three companies by promoting open communication and addressing employee concerns effectively.
- Manage employee relations issues such as grievances, disputes, and disciplinary actions while maintaining fair and consistent policies.
- Plan and execute employee engagement activities tailored to each company’s unique environment:
- Webforest: Team-building events, tech workshops, and innovation challenges.
- Sellout Trading: Employee product workshops, sales training, and brand-related activities.
- Koufuku: Staff appreciation events, cultural celebrations, and team lunches.
4. Performance Management:
- Implement performance review processes for all companies, ensuring fair evaluations, goal setting, and feedback.
- Design a customized performance management system to match each company's needs:
- Webforest: Focus on technical performance and project delivery.
- Sellout Trading: Focus on sales targets, customer service, and product knowledge.
- Koufuku: Focus on service excellence, food quality, and teamwork in hospitality.
- Provide support and guidance to managers and supervisors on managing performance issues.
5. Learning and Development:
- Identify training and development needs across all companies and implement relevant training programs:
- Webforest: Technical upskilling, software training, and project management.
- Sellout Trading: Sales training, product knowledge, and customer service skills.
- Koufuku: Food safety, customer service, and cultural training related to Japanese cuisine.
- Ensure all staff have opportunities for professional growth and development based on their role and industry.
6. Compensation and Benefits:
- Oversee payroll and benefits administration for all companies, ensuring consistency and fairness in compensation.
- Work with finance teams from each company to design competitive compensation packages that attract and retain talent.
- Webforest: Ensure competitive pay for developers and tech roles.
- Sellout Trading: Provide commission structures for sales teams and retail staff.
- Koufuku: Ensure fair wages for restaurant staff and performance-based incentives.
7. HR Technology and Systems:
- Implement and manage HR software and tools to streamline HR operations, such as recruitment, payroll, and employee data management.
- Ensure HR technology is scalable and adaptable to the specific needs of each business:
- Webforest: Focus on remote work management tools and project tracking.
- Sellout Trading: Focus on retail scheduling and commission tracking.
- Koufuku: Focus on shift management and time tracking for restaurant staff.
8. Strategic HR Planning:
- Work closely with the Managing owner and leadership teams of each company to align HR strategies with overall business goals.
- Support organizational growth by forecasting staffing needs and developing succession planning for key positions.
- Provide insights and recommendations on workforce planning, culture development, and employee retention strategies unique to each company’s industry.
9. Diversity and Inclusion:
- Promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion across all three companies, ensuring that hiring practices and workplace culture are inclusive.
- Lead initiatives that support cultural sensitivity, particularly for Koufuku, where Japanese cultural practices and cuisine are a central theme.

Education:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree of Psychology, Human Resource Management or any related course
Licenses/Certifications/Trainings:

Prerequisites for the Job:
Proven experience as an HR Manager or in a similar leadership role
Personal Characteristics & Competencies & Other Requirements:
- Proven experience as an HR Manager overseeing multiple companies or industries.
- Strong understanding of HR policies, labor laws, and compliance standards across different sectors (IT, retail, hospitality).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt HR strategies for different company cultures.
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities, with experience managing diverse teams.
- Experience with HR software, systems, and technology for streamlining operations.
- Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple businesses.
Physical Demand:
Work is relatively heavy due to involvement in major decision making
