Impex/Logistics Officer - managing import and export operations, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, coordinating with suppliers and service providers, and facilitating the timely and efficient movement of goods.
Key Responsibilities of an Impex Officer:
- Import and Export Operations:
> Managing inbound and outbound shipments.
> Coordinating with suppliers, forwarders, and brokers to ensure timely delivery.
> Ensuring compliance with customs regulations and procedures.
> Facilitating import and export transactions, including documentation and permits.
> Monitoring shipments and tracking their progress.
- Logistics and Procurement:
> Canvassing for the best quotations and prices from suppliers.
> Coordinating the delivery of goods from suppliers to the company warehouse.
> Purchasing local goods and consumables.
> Ensuring timely procurement of raw materials, consumables, or services.
- Documentation and Compliance:
> Preparing and maintaining import-export documentation.
> Ensuring compliance with PEZA (Philippine Economic Zone Authority) and Bureau of Customs (BOC) regulations.
> Maintaining and updating clearance and permits needed for customs processes.
- Communication and Coordination:
> Communicating with suppliers, forwarders, brokers, and other stakeholders.
> Resolving issues related to shipments and customs clearance.
> Collaborating with other departments, such as finance and purchasing.
- Other Duties:
> Reviewing weekly inventory reports and analyzing requirements.
> Negotiating commercial terms with vendors.
> Preparing commercial evaluation reports.
> Auditing freight costs and documentation.
> Handling claims with insurance companies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in logistics/distribution operations, with supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of distribution processes, routing, and transport regulations.
- Experience working with logistics software or transport management systems (TMS).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage stakeholders.
