Job Description:
Little Harvard Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Mandarin Teacher to join our dynamic team. As a Mandarin Teacher, you will play a crucial role in fostering a nurturing and educational environment where young children can learn Mandarin Chinese through engaging activities and structured lessons.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate Mandarin lessons and activities that promote language development, cultural understanding, and communication skills.
- Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages children's curiosity and participation.
- Incorporate storytelling, songs, games, and interactive materials to make learning Mandarin enjoyable and accessible to preschool-aged children.
- Monitor and assess children's progress in language acquisition, providing regular feedback to parents and caregivers.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate Mandarin lessons with the overall curriculum and daily routines.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning and exploration.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and parent-teacher conferences as required.
- Uphold the preschool's policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations, at all times.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Mandarin Language, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.
- Previous experience teaching Mandarin to preschool-aged children is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and educational best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young children, parents, and colleagues.
- Patient, compassionate, and dedicated to the growth and well-being of young learners.
- Certification in Early Childhood Education or Mandarin teaching certification is a plus.
