Responsible for conducting microbiological testing and analysis of samples in accordance with established laboratory procedures, regulatory guidelines, and ISO standards. This role ensures accurate, timely, and reliable test results to support quality assurance, product safety, and regulatory compliance in various sectors such as water, food, pharmaceuticals, or environmental testing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a closely related life science field.
* A Master’s degree or relevant certifications in microbiology is an advantage.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
* Minimum of 1 year of hands-on professional experience in a microbiology laboratory, preferably in a testing center or ISO-accredited facility.
* Demonstrated experience in:
- Microbial culturing, identification, and enumeration techniques.
- Use of laboratory instruments (e.g., autoclaves, incubators, laminar flow cabinets, colony counters).
- Sample handling and aseptic techniques.
- Water, food, pharmaceutical, or environmental microbiological testing.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCE:
* Familiar with international standards such as:
- ISO/IEC 17025 – General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
* Experience in handling microbiological quality control and validation procedures.
* Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and biosafety protocols.
Soft Skills & Other Requirements:
* Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and documentation skills.
* Capable of preparing technical reports and interpreting microbiological data.
* Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-based environment.
* Willingness to work in extended hours when needed and follow strict laboratory safety procedures.
* Physically fit to perform laboratory work (standing, lifting, working in sterile environments).
Certifications (optional but desirable):
* Certification in Biosafety, Internal Auditing (ISO 17025), or Quality Assurance.
