- Works collaboratively with the team of physicians and under the supervision of nurses to deliver quality patient care.
- Reports on the assigned area 30 mins. prior to scheduled duty
- Understands basic office skills, including proficiency in the use of Hospital Information System/Bizbox
- Answer phone calls and conveying messages to appropriate staff and patients
- Demonstrates verbal and written interpersonal communication skills in order to communicate effectively with patients and their families, and with other members of the health care team.
- Reports any issue of concern in the ward to the Head Nurse/Charge Nurse
- Collaborates with the Nursing Assistants in ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the nursing unit
- Follows the general hospital safety policy and principles
- Organizes, Updates, and Files Medical Records
- Prepares admission kits and pillows (encode as admission fee) and wrist bands prior to Direct-To-Room admissions
- Encodes online requests of patient’s medication and supplies
- Fills out requisition forms if a patient needs pharmaceuticals, particularly the classification and correct spelling of medications including laboratory tests/diagnostics/radiology requests to be performed.
- Process and maintain MAR (Medication Administration Record) – patient’s medication form
- Monitors and replenishes the stock of Emergency “E” Cart by forwarding timely and monthly inventory as approved by the Head Nurse
- Responsible to patients who are on their way home and give discharged patients all the necessary paperwork relevant to their medical situation
- Organizes the charts of discharged patients
- Answers non-medical patient’s questions like/related to PhilHealth (CF4), requirements for PCSO, SSS and the likes.
- Organizes all the forms like folders of records, request logbooks needed in the unit and requests of inadequate forms at PMO (Property Custodian for Riso graphing)
- Prepares forms needed/requested by the patient/s (patient’s relative) for filing at the Medical Records Department such as Medical Certificates, Death Certificates and the likes.
- Keeps track of patient’s transfer and knows which room/bed contains which patient.
