A School Nurse is a professional who is there to make sure that every student has access to mental and physical health services throughout the day. They work with teachers and parents or guardians on behalf of their patients in order to create care plans for them when needed, including medication management if necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide first aid and immediate medical attention to employees and students in case of injury, illness, or emergencies.
- Provide direct patient care, including assessments, monitoring, medication administration, and treatment planning.
- Follow established protocols, policies, and procedures to uphold patient safety and quality standards..
- Handle emergencies and critical situations with composure and quick decision-making.
- Monitors, records, and reports symptoms or changes in condition of employees and students who go to the clinic.
- Ensure school environment is safe for children and school staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse
- Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the like).
