Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the pastry section, including preparation and presentation of desserts, pastries, and baked goods.
- Prepare a variety of high-quality pastries, cakes, and confections according to established recipes and techniques.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stocked, and organized.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section, ensuring adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Assist in the creation and development of new pastry menu items, collaborating with the team to keep the dessert offerings fresh and exciting.
- Monitor and control inventory for the pastry section, ensuring minimal waste and proper storage of ingredients.
- Supervise and train junior pastry staff, providing guidance and support in pastry techniques and quality control.
- Work with other kitchen departments to ensure smooth and efficient service during busy periods.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie or in a similar pastry-focused role in a fine-dining or high-volume kitchen.
- Formal culinary training or equivalent experience in pastry and dessert preparation.
- In-depth knowledge of baking techniques, pastry production, and plating presentation.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating visually stunning desserts.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
