Educational Background:
- Graduate of any four-year college course (preferably in environmental science, engineering, chemistry, or related fields).
- Even non-science/engineering graduates can be designated as PCO, provided they undergo and pass DENR-required training.
Certification & Training:
- Must complete the Basic PCO Training Course from a DENR-recognized training institution within six (6) months of designation.
- No prior accreditation needed upon hiring, but must secure DENR accreditation afterward.
Experience:
- Not required at entry level, though exposure to environmental management, refrigeration systems, or safety compliance is an advantage.
Skills & Knowledge (Basic Level):
- Willingness to learn environmental regulations (RA 8749, RA 9275, RA 6969, RA 9003).
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office, Excel for reports).
- Good written and verbal communication for report submissions to DENR.
Personal Qualities:
- Keen attention to detail and documentation.
- Can coordinate with plant operations, maintenance, and government agencies.
- Willing to attend trainings and do field inspections.
