Project Manager
(High Voltage / Medium Voltage Cable Laying, Pulling, Termination and Testing)
Our Company is located in a world –class industrial subdivision south of Manila with more than 100 employees and has been in the business for more than 25 years.
We invite applicants to fill in the position described below. Compensation package is open commensurate to qualifications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop detailed project execution plans, schedules, and resource allocations for HV/MV cable installation activities, including laying, pulling, termination, and testing.
· Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure timely delivery of cables, accessories, and tools.
· Plan and manage cable routes, trenching, duct installation, and cable laying in line with project specifications.
· Supervise site activities related to HV/MV cable pulling, jointing, termination, and testing.
· Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE) and manufacturer’s recommendations.
· Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and work permits.
· Ensure that all cable installations are carried out according to approved drawings, technical specifications, and QA/QC procedures.
· Coordinate with quality inspectors for inspections of jointing, terminations, and testing activities (e.g., VLF testing, insulation resistance).
· Maintain accurate records of cable tests and commissioning results.
· Implement and enforce safety procedures and standards on site.
· Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks related to cable works.
· Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of cable waste and accessories.
· Conduct regular progress meetings and prepare progress reports for management and shareholders.
· Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to meet deadlines.
· Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and control costs associated with the project.
· Evaluate and approve invoices from subcontractors and suppliers related to cable works.
· Ensure that all site documentation, such as cable schedules, test certificates, redline/as-built drawings, and material submittals, are maintained and updated.
· Identify potential risks (technical, safety, schedule-related) and implement mitigation measures.
· Respond to unforeseen issues on site such as cable damage, route conflicts, or weather delays.
Qualification:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field (Master’s Degree is an advantage).
· Professional certifications e.g., PMP is preferred for project management roles.
· Minimum 5 years of experience in project management of same or similar nature and preferably in a project environment dealing with different nationalities, including 5+ years in HV/MV cable installation and commissioning.
· Good written and oral communication.
· Knowledge and experience in:
o Project planning, scheduling and monitoring.
o Progress tracking and reporting.
o Site inspection and coordination.
o Collaborates with clients, contractors and subcontractors.
o Review of method statements, test reports, and plans.
o Ensure safety, quality, and schedule compliance.
o Testing & commissioning oversight
o Client reporting and communication
· Strong skills in:
o Budgeting, cost control, and resource management
o Risk analysis and mitigation planning
o Contract management and claim handling
· Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
· Certified Cable Jointers or Supervision Training from cable manufacturers (e.g., Nexans, Prysmian, etc.)
· First Aid and Electrical Permit to Work (PTW) training
