JOB SUMMARY:
A Quantity Surveyor I shall calculate quantities based on the Customer requirements. He/she shall prepare detailed estimates to ensure the budget is sufficient for each stage of construction. The main task is to determine the quantities for materials, labor and equipment necessary for the project.
DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Attend pre-bid meetings and gather information directly from the Customer.
2. Conduct site inspection if necessary to ensure the accuracy of quantity surveying.
3. Review and scrutinize the Bid Documents, Contract and Data Sheets.
4. Provide rough estimate on what are involved in the project, based on measurements of the architect’s or client’s sketches. Comparison of organized collection of Data Base/s from previous projects shall be done in order to predict the cost as accurate as possible.
5. Study the architects’ and engineers’ plans, identify the costs (Labor, Materials, Equipment, etc.) involved, and then set an overall estimated budget for the project based on the given Bid Documents and Data Sheets. Compare the project with previous projects (see item #3).
6. Coordinate with the Customer for any clarifications.
7. Canvass materials and interact with the technical representative of suppliers for a clearer overview of the requirements. Review the Technical Data Sheets provided by the supplier.
8. Plan the costs to help the Customer stay within the project budget using practical solutions. Perform Value Engineering in any project being undertaken.
9. Preparation of Technical Data Sheets.
10. Prepare the final detailed estimate complete with cost analysis, manpower schedule, construction methodology in conjunction with Operations group, and construction schedule based on the customer’s target completion. This is the basis for the evaluation of the Engineering Head for final selling.
11. Provide other related duties as may be required.
Qualifications:
Graduate of Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
With one year experience
Male/Female
Adequate Computer Skill
Preferably Living in San Jose Del Monte Bulacan
