We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s dynamic construction team in the renewable energy (hydropower) sector. In this role, you will be responsible for the full commercial management of subcontractor packages—from procurement through to final accounts. You will play a pivotal role in establishing robust cost control systems, mitigating commercial risks, and identifying value-adding opportunities throughout the lifecycle of infrastructure and building projects. Working closely with the project commercial lead, package managers, and wider project stakeholders, you will provide accurate cost reporting, administer variations, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements. You will also be involved in preparing bills of quantities, performing quantity take-offs across multiple disciplines, and supporting the delivery of high-quality, cost-efficient construction outcomes. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in cost and commercial management, preferably within a consultancy environment, handling both pre- and post-contract phases.
- Solid experience in managing subcontract packages, procurement processes, and final account closures.
- Proficient in measurement standards (SMM) and preparation of Bills of Quantities (BoQ).
- Experience in risk and opportunity management, including cost reduction and value engineering.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and health and safety regulations.
- Proven ability to interpret technical drawings and conduct accurate quantity take-offs for civil, structural, architectural, external works, and MEPF services.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with legal and contractual frameworks, including variation claims and dispute resolution.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team aligned with sustainability goals, including net-zero carbon transition initiatives.
