Job Summary:
The Radiotechnologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures using various radiologic techniques to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. They operate imaging equipment, prepare patients for procedures, and ensure high-quality images are obtained for accurate diagnosis while adhering to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and positioning them appropriately.
- Operate radiologic equipment such as X-ray, MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound machines.
- Ensure the safety of patients by following radiation safety protocols and minimizing exposure.
- Capture high-quality diagnostic images and ensure proper documentation.
- Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow hospital and departmental policies regarding infection control and patient safety.
- Assist radiologists in performing interventional procedures as required.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging logs.
- Educate patients about procedures and answer their questions.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in radiologic technology and techniques.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
- Valid registration/license with relevant medical or radiology board or authority.
- Proven experience in operating radiologic equipment.
- Knowledge of safety standards and protocols related to radiology.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations.
