We are seeking an innovative and passionate R&D Chef to join our culinary team. This role is crucial for driving the future of our product offerings, focusing exclusively on the ideation, experimentation, and development of new chocolate and chocolate-based products. You will be a creative force, responsible for exploring new flavors, textures, and concepts, transforming visionary ideas into tangible, market-ready prototypes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conceptualization & Ideation:
- Generate and develop innovative concepts for new chocolate products, including but not limited to bonbons, truffles, bars, pastries, desserts, and unique savory applications.
- Conduct extensive research into culinary trends, ingredient properties, and emerging market demands to inform new product development.
- Translate abstract ideas into concrete recipes and product specifications.
- Recipe Development & Prototyping:
- Lead the hands-on creation and refinement of new recipes, conducting numerous trials and experiments to achieve desired flavor profiles, textures, and stability.
- Source and evaluate new ingredients, ensuring quality, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Document all experimental results, recipe iterations, and sensory evaluations meticulously.
- Ingredient Exploration & Science:
- Deep dive into the science of chocolate and other ingredients, understanding their interactions and properties to optimize product performance and shelf-life.
- Experiment with different processing techniques and equipment to achieve unique product characteristics.
- Collaboration & Handover:
- Work closely with the production team to ensure new products can be scaled efficiently and consistently.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales to understand consumer preferences and align product development with commercial strategies.
- Present new concepts and prototypes to key stakeholders, incorporating feedback into refinement.
- Quality & Compliance (R&D Focus):
- Ensure that all new product development adheres to food safety, hygiene, and quality standards from the initial concept phase.
- Develop product specifications that comply with relevant food regulations.
- Continuous Learning:
- Stay abreast of global culinary innovations, particularly within the confectionery and fine dining sectors, and actively seek out new techniques and ingredients.
- Participate in industry events, workshops, and training relevant to R&D and chocolate.
