Job Description
The Receptionist is in charge of the receiving area and oversees the proper accurate endorsement of information from the reception desk to the Physical Therapist, Cardiac Specialist, Occupational Therapist and Speech Pathologist.
1. Operation of Equipment - Performs daily maintenance of all the machines and equipment in the reception area.
2. Interpretation and Report Preparation - Evaluates and submits monthly reports on patients and satisfaction surveys.
3. Reception
a. Renders services requested in the Hospital Information System.
b. Answers phone queries.
c. Maintains attentiveness to customers’ needs; initiates steps that will comply with their requirements top meet and exceed their expectations.
d. Observes proper decorum like greeting and accommodating patients or people who goes to the laboratory for examination or inquiry regardless of his/her status in the society.
e. Answers inquiries regarding services, fees and the availability of the results either by phone or in person.
f. Monitors patients’ turnaround time in compliance with the standard of the Department and the hospital.
4. Resource Management - Maintains proper storage of all material to avoid losses and wastages.
5. Documentation
a. Encodes the charges of in-patients and out patients.
b. Sorts out the released results for proper distribution and logs in the results for in patients and out patients.
c. Delivers results of discharge patients to the Medical Records Section.
6. Attends to the problems that may arise in the section and investigate
7. Maintains cleanliness of the working area through close coordination with the Housekeeping Department.
8. Maintains the cleanliness of the reception and coordinates with the housekeeping department regarding the cleanliness of the comfort room and reception area at large.
