Etrading Software is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Release & Environment Manager to take ownership of the release lifecycle and environment governance for one of its key managed service platforms, the Derivatives Service Bureau (DSB). This is an essential role responsible for ensuring smooth, stable and well-governed transitions of change through all customer-facing environments (e.g. UAT, Production).
The Release & Environment Manager will work closely with development, DevOps, infrastructure, quality assurance, operations, and project management teams to ensure each release is rigorously assessed and approved via a structured Acceptance into Service (AiS) process. This role is designed to introduce intentional friction between rapid delivery and live operations, safeguarding service stability and client confidence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Release Coordination
    Lead the planning, scheduling, execution, and communication of releases across lower to client-facing environments, internal teams and third-party stakeholders. Coordinating release timelines, ensuring all teams agree on schedules.
  • Acceptance into Service (AiS)
    Own and enforce the AiS process, ensuring that all releases meet readiness criteria including documentation, rollback planning, monitoring, and support handover.
  • Environment Oversight
    Manage the integrity, consistency, and operational readiness of UAT, Staging, and Production environments. Coordinate deployments, configuration changes, and access management across environments. Overseeing build processes and ensuring the correct versions are released.
  • Stakeholder Management
    Act as the focal point for cross-team collaboration involving development, testing, DevOps, business stakeholders, and client-facing operations. Collaborating with development, QA, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth releases. Keeping all teams informed about release statuses, changes, and issues.
  • Change Risk Governance
    Assess and manage the risk associated with each release. Facilitate release readiness reviews and act as chair of change control/release meetings as needed. Overseeing the deployment process, ensuring minimal downtime. Managing changes and unexpected challenges efficiently.
  • Post-Release Monitoring & Issue Resolution
    Support operational teams in validating live releases, monitoring performance, and managing incidents. Drive root cause analysis and integrate lessons learned into future release planning.
  • Process & Tooling Improvement
    Continuously improve the release process, including automation opportunities, checklists, dashboards, and reporting capabilities. Maintaining release notes, deployment instructions, and related documentation.
  • Compliance & Documentation
    Maintain accurate and auditable documentation for all releases, aligned with applicable policies and frameworks such as DORA, ISO 27001, and ITIL.

Skills & Experience
Required:
  • Significant experience in Release and/or Environment Management in a complex, production-critical environment.
  • Strong planning, coordination, tracking and stakeholder engagement skills across globally distributed teams.
  • Understanding of change and release management frameworks, including risk assessment and rollback planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience producing clear technical and procedural documentation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple streams of work under tight deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Understanding of software development, version control, deployment processes.
Desirable:
  • Experience working in regulated financial markets or managed service environments.
  • Knowledge of financial reference data workflows or ISO 20022-based systems.
  • AWS experience (particularly with environment management, deployment automation, or fault recovery).
  • Exposure to governance frameworks such as DORA or ISO/IEC 20000/27001.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, release management software, and tracking systems.
