Job Description:
- This role is responsible for leading the research, development, and commercialization of new food products and continuous improvement of existing formulations.
- Lead and manage the end-to-end product development process using Stage-Gate methodology.
- Conduct research and data analysis to support new product concepts and improvements.
- Coordinate with production and quality teams for pilot tests, validation, and commercialization.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all R&D activities, specifications, and testing protocols.
- Address technical issues during development and post-commercialization.
- Evaluate customer feedback and implement performance enhancements.
- Monitor new ingredient, packaging, and processing technologies for application.
- Supervise and develop R&D staff through coaching and performance evaluation.
Job Specifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
Experience:
At least 3–5 years of experience in R&D within the FMCG or food manufacturing industry.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Product development lifecycle (Stage-Gate or similar models, food formulation techniques, ingredients, and functional properties.
- Knowledge of laboratory testing protocols and equipment.
- Familiarity sensory evaluation methods.
- Use of software tools for documentation, data analysis, and formulation (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SAP, R&D-specific platforms).
- Basic knowledge of emerging technologies in food processing and packaging is a plus.
