The Head of R&D - Construction Innovation leads a cross-disciplinary team focused on discovering, evaluating, and implementing cutting-edge construction technologies, designs, and methodologies. This role prioritizes modular construction, aiming to reduce timelines, optimize costs, and elevate the quality of vertical housing projects. The incumbent will collaborate closely with architectural, engineering, and construction divisions to pilot innovations and integrate practical solutions that align with the company's growth strategy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver validated, cost-effective, and scalable innovations in construction methods and materials
- Ensure all R&D efforts support NSJBI's vertical development priorities and timelines
- Establish and maintain linkages with innovators, vendors, and academic institutions for co-research and knowledge exchange
- Successfully implement and evaluate pilot applications of recommended solutions in live projects
- Produce comprehensive R&D reports, feasibility assessments, and board-level presentations
- Lead, mentor, and manage the R&D team to conduct comprehensive research and generate actionable insights. •
- Identify and evaluate emerging construction technologies, materials, and modular methodologies.
- Develop innovative construction solutions that reduce project timelines and overall costs. • Collaborate with design, engineering, and construction teams to pilot new solutions and assess performance.
- Establish testing procedures, build prototypes, and conduct feasibility studies to validate concepts.
- Stay informed on global construction trends and translate insights into applicable recommendations.
- Build partnerships with industry innovators, suppliers, and academic institutions for knowledge exchange.
- Provide detailed reports and presentations on research outcomes, recommendations, and implementation plans.
- Ensure R&D activities comply with safety regulations, construction standards, and corporate goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Master’s degree in Construction Management, Sustainable Design, or Engineering Innovation
- Minimum of 25+ years, with strong exposure to building technologies and process innovation
- Direct experience in planning, design, or implementation of offsite construction methods
- At least 5 years leading R&D, innovation, or technical development teams in the construction or real estate sector
- Proven ability to coordinate with architectural, structural, MEFPS, and site teams
