General Functions:
A Safety Officer is expected to be responsible for the following:
· Provides advisory and guidance to the Management Committee on all Occupational Safety and Health-related compliance requirements.
· Monitor compliance to defined OSH Program and Policies
· Assists departments in establishing standards, controls, and work processes specific to departmental operations to eliminate work hazards
· Conduct investigations on accidents, submit Investigation Reports, and provide recommendations, as needed.
· Keep records and coordinate the compilation of information necessary for Risk Management files and reports
· Conducts regular safety audits including inspection of facilities, equipment, safety devices, and work practices to ensure compliance with the required safety standards
· Communicate to Leaders the findings of safety audits and provide remediation recommendations, if needed.
· Train Safety Officers, First Aiders, and all employees on OSH-related topics/matters
Qualifications :
- Graduate of related Bachelors Degree
- Minimum 1 years of work experience as a Safety Officer
- Experience as a Safety Officer in Manufacturing, Engineer or Construction setting preferred
- Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated ability to analyze legal advice and then apply it to business needs
- May be required to travel and work across various sites
- Active Training: BOSH, COSH, HIRAC and LCM
