Role: Senior Sourcing Specialist
Fresenius Medical Care’s PVE organization is a proactive local procurement business partner, ensuring business continuity, providing cost savings & process efficiencies, while connecting the business with our world-class procurement organization.
As a Sr. Buyer/Buyer, you will be responsible for implementing the category strategy across a broad range of stakeholders in clinics, plants, and DCs. You will develop and execute sourcing strategies to achieve the best total cost of ownership, sustainable productivity, and high levels of quality and service aligned with cross-functional business objectives. You will work with business partners to understand patient and internal needs then effectively select suppliers, negotiate favorable contracts, and support the management of supplier performance, risk, and relationships. You will be coached and apprenticed by not only the Regional Lead but also the category managers.
Responsibilities:
- Execute sourcing strategies within a country with the support of the Global Category Manager, and Regional Lead
- Establish buy-in for local execution of global Category Strategy
- Anticipate local demands & business needs (planning meetings with business)
- Provide visibility of local plans
- Support the creation of Category strategy and 1-3-5-year plans with the Global Category Leader, Regional Lead, and cross-functional business leaders
- Develop and execute requests for proposals, information, or quotes (RFx)
- Conduct supplier identification efforts and execute supplier due diligence
- Conduct data analysis and utilize financial acumen to identify opportunities to leverage scale and drive cost savings
- Establish a collaborative environment with key local suppliers and business partners to optimize supplier performance and innovation
- Review contract requirements to negotiate critical terms and conditions in line with sourcing strategy
- Support supplier selection and performance management
- Conducts negotiations with suppliers and puts in place regional and local contracts
- Serve as the first point of escalation to functional stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA or BS with 2-4 years of experience in the related field, preferred
- Knowledge /experience in sourcing including technical category knowledge, cost drivers, related industry dynamics, and market trends
- Demonstrated effectiveness in project and process management to execute sourcing strategy with cross-functional teams
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively and interact with personnel at various levels of expertise on a global landscape
- Demonstrated financial acumen with an ability to interpret data and analytics
- Effective presentation abilities, including proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
- Results-oriented and strategic thinker
- Negotiation experience preferred
