Qualifications:
- Graduate of Sports Science, Physical Education, Sports Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or any related field.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in sports coordination, event management, or community engagement is an advantage.
- Strong background or active participation in sports, especially in badminton, volleyball, or basketball.
- With experience or knowledge in organizing tournaments or recreational leagues.
- Excellent coordination, time management, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with players, teams, and event partners.
- Marketing-savvy; capable of promoting events via social media and local networks.
- Can work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays during events.
- Energetic, passionate about community and wellness, and driven by results.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Management & Event Coordination
- Tournament Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive tournament schedules including match fixtures, league formats, and elimination rounds for badminton, volleyball, and basketball tournaments.
- Event Production: Oversee the entire production process of sports events, ensuring logistics such as equipment, venues, staffing, and safety measures are adequately addressed.
- On-site Management: Serve as the primary point of contact during events, managing operations, resolving issues, and ensuring all events meet quality and safety standards.
- Volunteer and Staff Coordination: Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and temporary staff who assist during events.
Facility and Court Reservations
- Scheduling: Coordinate and reserve sports facilities and courts for practice sessions, tournaments, and league matches.
- Facility Management: Work with facility managers to ensure courts are maintained to the required standards and are available as scheduled.
- Conflict Resolution: Manage scheduling conflicts and negotiate with multi-use facility providers to secure optimal usage times.
Marketing and Promotion
- Brand Development: Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote tournaments and regular sports activities, partnering with local businesses, sponsors, and media outlets.
- Digital and Social Media Management: Oversee the creation and distribution of digital marketing materials (social media campaigns, emails, banners) to increase participation and spectator attendance.
- Community Engagement: Actively promote sports programs to the community via outreach initiatives, organizing promotional events, and engaging local clubs and schools.
Administrative and Financial Duties
- Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and manage budgets for sports programs, ensuring that all events are cost-effective without compromising quality.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain detailed records of events, expenses, attendance, and feedback to inform future planning and improve operational efficiency.
- Policy Implementation: Develop and enforce policies and protocols related to sports events, including health, safety, and participant conduct guidelines.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Cross-functional Coordination: Liaise with coaches, referees, sports associations, sponsors, and local government to ensure seamless cooperation and compliance with regulations.
- Feedback Collection: Implement systems to gather input from participants, spectators, and staff to refine future sports events and improve overall program delivery.
