Responsibilities
- Managing a team of at least 10 members for administrative and leadership tasks
- Administering and maintaining Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, including patching, updates, upgrades, and performance tuning
- Providing after-hours on-call support, responding to and resolving system incidents and alerts promptly and efficiently
- Implementing and managing change management processes, ensuring all changes to the infrastructure are properly documented, tested, and executed
- Performing security hardening and vulnerability assessments on servers, implementing security best practices, and responding to security incidents
- Monitoring system performance, capacity, and availability using various monitoring tools, proactively identifying and resolving issues
- Collaborating with other IT teams, including network, database, and application teams, to ensure seamless integration and support
- Participating in disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing, ensuring the ability to recover systems in the event of an outage
- Automating system administration tasks using scripting languages like Python, Ansible, PowerShell or even Bash, improving efficiency and reducing manual effort
- Creating and maintaining documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
- Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in server administration, security, and operations
Qualifications
Core Competencies (Must-have Competencies)
- Proven experience as a people leader
- At least 3 years of experience with Server Administration, with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems and Windows Server
- At least 3 years of experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware vSphere and vCenter, and Red Hat OpenStack
- At least 3 years of experience with scripting languages and automation tools like Ansible, Python, PowerShell and Bash
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing
- Solid knowledge of security principles and best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability management
Complementary Competencies (Good-to-have Competencies)
- Experience working in a 24/7 operational environment
- Experience with Solaris, HP-UX, and AIX operating systems
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and principles
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Willingness to participate in after-hours on-call rotation
- Knowledge of change management processes and procedures
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and technologies
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related fields
