Time Type: Full timeWorker Type: EmployeeThis role oversees GSSC's adherence to tax laws, regulations and other government requirements ensuring accurate and timely compliance with the BIR and other regulatory bodies such as PEZA, BOI, SEC & LGU. The role includes providing guidance on tax efficiency, risk management, training, and continuous improvement in tax processes.Responsibilities:
Ensure timely and accurate filing and payment of tax returns (e.g. income tax, withholding taxes, VAT) together with required supporting schedules.
Monitor and ensure adherence to local government requirements and regulatory filings with PEZA, BOI and SEC.
Coordinate with regulatory bodies and respond to queries or audits from the BIR or other government bodies.
Contribute to taxation strategy development and prioritize operational deliverables and team priorities.
Build frameworks for timely and accurate tax computations and returns to ensure adherence to internal procedures and external regulations.
Provide tax input on planning and transactions to identify tax implications and minimize costs.
Stay updated with tax law changes and regulatory updates ensuring the organization adapts to new requirements.
Conduct internal audits to verify compliance across processes and mitigate potential compliance and financial risks.
Communicate key risk issues to Senior Management and seek solutions to tax risk issues.
Drive process optimization and deliver efficiency targets by identifying and implementing process changes.
Foster positive relationships with stakeholders by communicating regularly to clarify and resolve inquiries.
Necessary Work Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in taxation, accounting and compliance roles, preferably in corporate or consulting environment.
With at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity overseeing tax and compliance functions.
With hands-on experience preparing and filing BIR forms/returns and alphalists.
With hands-on experience securing LGU permits and PEZA/BOI permits and certifications.
Preferred Work Experience:
Experience in BPO industry is a plus
Exposure to internal or external audits, including responding to BIR inquiries or assessments.
Experience in tax optimization or working with fiscal incentives
Necessary Qualifications:
Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Strong working knowledge of tax laws and PEZA/BOI regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS applications for tax computations and data analysis.
With good communication and leadership skills
