Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Document Controller to support our digital construction projects by managing and processing project documentation. This role is key to ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timely ingestion of project records including submittals, RFIs, and drawings. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing incoming documentation and inputting relevant data into our proprietary document control system, ensuring project stakeholders have access to the most current information at all times and understand the prerequisites and dependencies on their deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, review, and log incoming construction documents such as submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and drawings.
- Ensure documentation meets required standards and is compliant with project protocols before processing.
- Input and maintain accurate metadata and document details in our proprietary project management system.
- Track document workflows and statuses to support timely reviews and approvals.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to resolve discrepancies or missing information.
- Generate and distribute document control reports, transmittals, and notifications as needed.
- Maintain organized digital records and archives in accordance with company and project-specific procedures.
- Assist with audits, compliance checks, and quality control efforts related to document handling.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in reading construction documentation including drawings and RFIs.
- Familiarity with construction documentation (RFIs, submittals, drawings, specs, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience working in a digital construction or BIM-enabled project environment is an advantage.
Preferred:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with digital collaboration platforms and file-sharing tools.
