Job Description
MAIN PURPOSE
OF THE JOB:
Support the profitable growth initiatives of Health and Employee Benefits, Group Credit Life and Emerging Customers segments through strategic group underwriting of new business and renewal portfolio.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide appropriate risk assessment, risk management, and premium rate setting support that will meet premium income and profit objectives. Work closely with the actuarial and pricing team to identify areas for improvement in pricing assumptions and pricing techniques.
- Determines and/or approves appropriate rating for accurate pricing.
- Generates competitive pricing of proposed plans based on either customized or standard schedule of benefits with consideration on the overall profitability of accounts.
- Monitoring and analysis of emerging individual account and portfolio results
- Initiates rate actions, plan changes and claims control for improved claims ratio to gain more profit.
- Determines renewal business persistency rate and pricing.
- Identify areas for improvement in pricing assumptions and pricing techniques.
- Work closely with actuarial team for support on review and recommendations
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering and other courses
- Minimum 7-10 year experience in group underwriting and pricing of Group life and HMO/Group Health insurance
- Minimum of 3 years in supervisory/managerial capacity in product management and pricing
- Experience in dealing with brokers, agents or partners is an advantage
- Ability to identify key pricing issues and make recommendations
- Ability to demonstrate measurable results: results-oriented
- Very good people skills to interact with senior management, colleagues and cross-functional teams
- With financial understanding is an advantage
- With exposure to corporate market is an advantage
- Proficient in MS Office applications (esp in Excel and Powerpoint)
- Excellent Communication Skills (oral/written)
