Typesetter (Day Shift, Full-Time – Dumaguete City)
Overview
Academic Group, an Australia-based publisher specializing in secondary school textbooks and study materials, seeks a meticulous Typesetter to enhance the visual presentation and legibility of our publications.
Job Responsibilities
- Format and typeset educational materials—including textbooks, study guides, brochures, and newsletters—using Adobe InDesign.
- Proofread content to ensure error-free printing, confirming all edits and corrections are incorporated accurately.
- Process manuscript input, arranging text and images in line with publisher standards.
- Collaborate with editors and the publishing team to develop and refine layout mock-ups and templates.
- Perform thorough page reviews, delivering polished drafts that align with style, format, and accuracy requirements.
- Communicate proactively with editors to resolve layout or content adjustments.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign is essential.
- Strong written and verbal English skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Artistic sensibility is highly desirable.
- College graduate, preferably with a degree in Communications, English, or a related field.
- Willingness to work on-site in Dumaguete City.
