Video Editor – YouTube, Reels, and Educational Content
We're on the hunt for a talented, creative, and detail-driven Video Editor to help us bring movement education to life through compelling visual storytelling. If you thrive on turning complex ideas into engaging, easy-to-understand content and have a strong eye for design and pacing, you might be exactly who we’re looking for.
What You’ll Work On
Weekly Deliverables:
- One YouTube video per week (8–15 minutes, solution-focused format)
- Two Reels/Shorts per week (30–60 seconds, vertical for Instagram & YouTube)
Ongoing Projects:
- “Technique of the Week” video demos
- Course lesson edits, as time allows
Your Main Responsibilities
Story-Driven Editing:
- Edit A-roll and B-roll footage, enhance pacing, and build strong cold opens
- Add dynamic text and lower-thirds to clarify biomechanical concepts
Motion Graphics & Visual Enhancements:
- Create clean 2D graphics (arrows, highlights, etc.) to illustrate joint movements
- Use our branded fonts (Kanit) and color scheme throughout
Audio & Visual Polish:
- Perform basic noise reduction, audio leveling, and music mixing
- Apply consistent color correction and grading
Vertical Video Reframing:
- Adapt horizontal content for 9:16 format with smart reframing, zooms, captions, and meme-style elements
File Management & Review Workflow:
- Keep Dropbox files organized
- Deliver first drafts via Adobe Teams and implement timestamped feedback within 48 hours
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills:
- 3+ years of editing experience (must use Premiere Pro)
- Experience with After Effects or Apple Motion for motion graphics
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva for graphics
- Knowledge of Descript or CapCut for captions
- Solid grasp of exercise and movement concepts (e.g., joint actions, compound vs isolation)
- Strong sense of pacing, story structure, and YouTube retention tactics
- Excellent written English communication
Bonus Skills:
- Experience editing fitness, rehab, or science-based content
- Animation or infographic design skills
- Familiarity with LUTs, 32-bit float audio, and brand storytelling techniques
Compensation & Schedule
- Contract Basis: 10–15 hours/week during an initial 30-day paid trial
- Rate Reviews: Every quarter, based on performance
- Time Zone: Must be available during U.S. Eastern Time (EST) mornings for team syncs and reviews
Performance Metrics
- Deadlines:
▸ Reels: Delivered within 48 hours
▸ YouTube videos: Delivered within 5 days
- Quality Control: No more than one factual, branding, or grammar error per final video
- Viewer Retention:
▸ Average view duration: 50%+, aiming for 60% within 90 days
▸ Reels: 40%+ watch-through rate, 5%+ engagement rate
- Efficiency:
▸ No more than one major revision per video after your first month
▸ 90%+ compliance in Dropbox organization
