DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review tax returns from start to finish, including workpapers prepared by tax staff.
- Supervise and train tax staff, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Research tax rules and analyze IRS transcripts for necessary information.
- Prepare workpapers and analyze client documents and communications.
- Request additional information from clients as needed.
- Prepare, self-review, and submit tax returns for final review.
- Develop and implement effective processes for tax preparation and review.
- Collaborate with the team to discuss project timelines and identify areas for process improvement.
- Implement best practices for efficiency and accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or any related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a US accounting/tax firm, with substantial expertise in preparing complex tax returns.
- At least 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience focusing on the review of tax returns is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with cloud-based accounting tools (QuickBooks Online, Xero)
- Familiarity with ProConnect and other tax software programs and tools.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective interaction with clients and collaboration with internal teams.
