- The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring that inventory is efficiently and accurately managed, and leading a team of warehouse staff. This role ensures that all warehouse processes are executed in accordance with company policies, safety standards, and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
- Supervise daily warehouse activities including receiving, storing and picking of goods
- Ensure adherence to operational procedures and standards to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Coordinate and oversee the workflow within the warehouse to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Staff Management:
- Lead and manage warehouse staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Provide guidance and support to team members to promote a positive and productive work environment.
- Address and resolve any staff-related issues or conflicts promptly and effectively.
Inventory Control:
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records, including regular stock counts and audits.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of inventory to prevent damage or loss.
- Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to manage stock levels and forecast future inventory needs.
Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions to promote compliance with health and safety standards.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents to the Warehouse Manager and take appropriate corrective actions.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Implement best practices and new procedures to enhance warehouse operations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate reports for the Warehouse Manager.
Customer Service:
- Address and resolve any issues related to order accuracy or shipping discrepancies.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and timely order fulfillment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or any related courses
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in warehouse management software
- Knowledge of safety regulations and inventory management practices.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy items, occasionally
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and conditions.
- Possible overtime and holiday/weekend work during peak periods.
