Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Oversee and support a team of operations staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Supervise and mentor a team of operations staff, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Process Improvement: Continuously assess and refine operational processes to optimize efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
- Client Communication: Act as a liaison between the New Age and its freight forwarding clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure accurate and timely processing of freight forwarding tasks, such as documentation, customs clearance, and shipment tracking.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks in operations and develop strategies to mitigate them, such as implementing compliance measures to adhere to regulatory requirements.
- Technology Utilization: Leverage technology tools and software systems to streamline operations, enhance tracking and reporting capabilities, and improve overall service delivery.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to gauge operational effectiveness and identify areas for improvement, providing regular reports to management.
- Problem Solving: Address operational challenges as they arise, employing critical thinking and resourcefulness to find solutions that meet both client and company objectives.
Skills Required:
- Experience: A relevant minimum 5+ years of experience in freight forwarding operations, including shipping documentation, customs regulations, and international trade practices.
- Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively.
