Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Translator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in linguistics and be proficient in multiple languages. This role involves translating written content, interpreting spoken language, and ensuring clear communication across various platforms. The Translator will play a crucial role in bridging language barriers and facilitating understanding between diverse audiences.
Duties
- Translate written documents from one language to another while maintaining the original meaning and context.
- Interpret spoken language during meetings, conferences, or events to ensure effective communication.
- Transcribe audio recordings into written format accurately and efficiently.
- Proofread translated materials for grammatical accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure translations meet client specifications and deadlines.
- Write original content in the target language when necessary, ensuring cultural relevance and appropriateness.
- Utilize linguistic skills to enhance communication strategies and improve overall project outcomes.
Requirements
- Proficiency in at least two languages, including English; additional languages are a plus.
- Strong understanding of linguistics and translation techniques.
- Experience in interpreting and transcribing is highly desirable.
- Excellent proofreading skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong writing skills in both the source and target languages.
- Previous experience as a translator or linguist is an advantage.
