Specific tasks may include:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparing ingredients: Washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing vegetables, meats, and other food items.
- Assisting with cooking: Helping with basic cooking tasks, such as stir-frying or steaming, as directed by the chef.
- Maintaining cleanliness: Sweeping and mopping floors, washing dishes, and cleaning kitchen equipment.
- Stocking supplies: Ensuring the kitchen is adequately stocked with necessary ingredients and supplies.
- Following food safety and sanitation guidelines: Adhering to proper food handling and storage procedures.
- Working as part of a team: Cooperating with other kitchen staff and communicating effectively with the cooks.
- Operating kitchen equipment: Familiarity with woks, steamers, and other specialized tools used in Chinese cooking.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is generally required, with culinary training or certifications in Chinese cuisine being advantageous.
- Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen, particularly in a Chinese restaurant, is often preferred.
