We have started doing business in Philippines more than 20 years ago and since then supplied 10 boilers to the market and serving many others. Now it is time for Sumitomo SHI FW to bring over 100 hundred years of comprehensive experience in thermal power plants to the plant owners to manage these extraordinary assets through their long lifetime assuring the best production and availability.

Sumitomo SHI FW, shortly SFW, is a world leader in combustion and steam generation technology. We have sold over 500 circulating fluidized bed steam generating units around the world; to utilities, independent power generators, municipalities and industrial clients. Our leadership position in CFB combustion results from our commitment to deliver superior designs providing high efficiency, fuel flexibility and low emissions. The role – Director, Philippine Services
We at SFW have decided to take advantage of our wide reference base in Asia and expand our Services operations.
As Director, Philippine Services, you will drive the Service business development and growth by
- Developing needed competences and capabilities for making SFW local Philippine service provider
- Developing customer relationships and widening our customer base in Philippines
- Managing service people in Philippines
- Developing the service organization in Philippines
- Developing partner networks in Philippines
- Co-operating with SFW’s talents worldwide to bring best value to our customers
As a member of our service business function, you will also participate e.g. in
- Strategy direction definition
- Internal operation processes development
- Sales and marketing support
- Ways of working development
- Business and contract models definitions
- Partner management and
- Operations management
In this role you will report to “Director, Services Asia” and be located in Manila, Philippines – with some amount of domestic and international travel.
To be successful in this role, we expect
- University degree in relevant field
- Several years’ leadership experience in a global organization
- Experience of Philippines business environment
- Project and/or sales management experience in a client facing role
- Proven knowledge and track record of generating business growth - commercial, technical and organizational aspects of making it happen
- Strong plus if You already have an understanding of the energy industry and its’ value chains and value generating mechanisms, as well how technologies add value to customers business in it. At least you have a great appetite and capability to learn this fast based on your earlier experience.
- Experience from maintenance and service business
- You are keen on building strong relationships both externally with customers & partners and internally with colleagues cross-functionally
- You enjoy multitasking & challenges and are a high achiever with positive, can-do mentality and integrity
- You have sound judgement and the ability for independent evaluation and decision-making
- Fluent in English and in Philippine language(s)
