The HR/Payroll Support Officer plays a role in supporting the client's clients by configuring, implementing, and maintaining the Employment Hero HR and Payroll systems. The role is responsible for ensuring a seamless experience for clients during onboarding and system setup, streamlining administrative processes, and delivering proactive support.


Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or any related degree
  • 3-4 years of demonstrated experience in Employment Hero and Payroll is required
  • 3-4 years of demonstrated experience in HR Admin and Payroll is highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and Modern Award interpretation.
  • High-level attention to detail and accuracy, especially with data entry and payroll configurations.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and online platforms.

Responsibilities


System Setup and Implementation (Employment Hero HR & Payroll)

  • Set up Employment Hero HR and Payroll systems for new clients based on their requirements.
  • Conduct audits and gather requirements to ensure accurate system setup.
  • Import employee and payroll data while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Customise workflows, onboarding, leave, timesheets, and policies.
  • Configure payroll rules like award interpretations, pay categories, and earning rules.
  • Test and validate the system before it goes live.

Client Onboarding and Support

  • Support clients during onboarding, answering system and HR/payroll-related queries.
  • Deliver training and system walkthroughs for users.
  • Act as the first point of contact for technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior consultants or Employment Hero support.

System Administration and Maintenance

  • Keep records of system settings, workflows, and permissions.
  • Regularly update systems to reflect legislative or organisational changes.
  • Manage software updates and support clients through transitions.

Process Improvement and Innovation

  • Find ways to improve client processes and reduce admin work using system features.
  • Stay updated on product changes, payroll laws, and HR best practices.
  • Recommend improvements to internal implementation processes or client systems.

Compliance and Data Integrity

  • Ensure HR and payroll setups meet Fair Work and Australian employment laws.
  • Perform quality checks for data accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Maintain data privacy and security at all times.

This role is subject to a number of skills and possible online practical tests.

This position is an onsite role at our Pampanga office. Candidate must be willing to work on-site.
