he Lead Project Manager will be a critical leader within the newly established Quality and Optimization Engineering Team (QOET) PMO. This role is responsible for overseeing and managing a specific portfolio or category of complex engineering projects, ensuring their alignment with strategic operational objectives. The Lead PM will play a pivotal role in driving project execution accountability, proactively managing risks, and providing comprehensive portfolio status reporting to senior leadership. This individual will also serve as a mentor and guide for other project managers within the team and act as an alternate for the PMO Lead as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the management of a specific category or portfolio of QOET projects, collaborating with Engineering Leads to define scope, objectives, and success criteria.
  • Facilitate project intake, definition, and prioritization discussions for their assigned portfolio.
  • Ensure alignment of projects within their portfolio to QOET and Global Operations strategic objectives.
  • Work closely with Engineering Leads to establish clear project plans, schedules, and resource requirements.
  • Act as a "check and balance" to the engineering teams, ensuring adherence to project management best practices and QOET PMO standards.
  • Drive accountability for project execution and milestones from QOET Engineering Leads and DRIs.
  • Proactively identify, track, and facilitate the resolution of project issues and risks, escalating as necessary.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive project status reports and portfolio summaries for their assigned projects to the PMO Lead, QOET Director, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Leads/DRIs on joint status updates and presentations.
  • Ensure effective communication channels are maintained across project teams and with external stakeholders (IT, Manufacturing, Planning).
  • Serve as a mentor and guide for the Senior PM, Project Manager, and Associate PM, providing expertise and support.
  • Can delegate specific tracking or coordination tasks to the Associate PM or Project Manager depending on complexity.
  • Can stand in as alternate for the PMO Lead for some high-level tasks, including attending specific stakeholder meetings.
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of PMO processes, templates, and tools.
  • Gather feedback from Engineering Leads and project teams to refine PMO practices.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior project management role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex technical projects, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience in portfolio management and strategic project prioritization.
  • Proven ability to drive accountability and manage stakeholders across various organizational levels.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly to executive audiences.
  • Expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile) and tools.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and project management software.
  • Familiarity with Power BI for reporting and analysis is a significant advantage.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build consensus and influence without direct authority.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification highly preferred.
