Summary: The Management Trainee (MT) will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Diner, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient management of staff, and maintaining a positive dining experience for customers. The MT will undergo training and gradually take on responsibilities under the guidance of senior management.
Responsibilities:
- Learn and assist in managing all aspects of the diner's operations, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and quality control.
- Ensure excellent customer service standards are upheld and address customer feedback and concerns.
- Train, mentor, and lead the restaurant team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Monitor financial performance, track expenses, and implement strategies to optimize profitability.
- Implement health and safety regulations, and maintain a clean and organized dining area.
- Keep track of the monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals, and monitor and report on revenue and cash flow.
- Uphold and enforce company policies.
- Schedule regular maintenance and cleaning of facilities.
- Assist/help management create the department budget.
- Oversee stock levels and order supplies.
- Make improvements to the running of the business and development of the restaurant.
- Act as the temporary manager in the absence of the Restaurant Manager, ensuring smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years experience in restaurant management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration (Marketing, Operations, or Management), or a related field.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong leadership potential with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in financial management and budgeting.
- Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple responsibilities.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Commercial awareness.
