The Paver Machine Driver is responsible for the placement of asphalt for airfield runways, taxiways, aprons, and associated airside areas. Working to the highest standards of quality, safety, and precision, the Paver Machine Driver will understand the unique requirements of airfield paving, including high-performance materials, surface tolerances, and strict safety protocols. The main focus of the role will be to operate the paving machine to lay asphalt and distribute evenly to create a smooth surface. The Paver Machine Driver will have a commitment to safety, ensuring that all work meets quality and safety standards.

Key Accountabilities
The Paver Machine Driver will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
- Operate paving machinery such as asphalt pavers, rollers, and related equipment to lay asphalt on surfaces
- Monitor and control the speed and depth of the asphalt being laid to ensure a smooth, even surface
- Collaborate with colleagues and foreman to ensure the project specifications and deadlines are met
- Conduct pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance on paving equipment
- Identify and report any equipment issues or required repairs
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations at all times
- Work in varying weather conditions and follow instructions from supervisors
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
Any other duties that are deemed suitable for this role to undertake.
Qualifications
- Completion of vocational training or apprenticeship in heavy equipment operation is an asset
- Driving licence advantageous
- Right to work in UK (sponsorship will be possible) and open to working overseas.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating paving machines in road construction or a related field
- Proven understanding of paving processes and machinery
- Ability to read/understand English and interpret blueprints, site layouts, and specifications
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Ability to work well as part of a team and take direction
- Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations in construction
- Physically fit and able to stand, kneel, or bend for long periods
- Experience working on aviation projects, civil engineering or infrastructure projects is a plus.
