We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor with at least 3 years of proven experience as an Estimator in reputable construction companies. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimations, preparing tender documents, and monitoring project budgets to ensure profitability and cost efficiency. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of construction processes, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams, clients, and suppliers. ⸻ Key Responsibilities 1. Estimation & Tendering • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services. • Analyze architectural and engineering drawings to extract quantities and specifications. • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), tender documents, and bid proposals in accordance with project requirements. • Conduct rate analysis and cost benchmarking to ensure competitive pricing. • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for quotations and negotiate favorable terms. 2. Cost Control & Budgeting • Monitor and track project costs throughout the construction lifecycle. • Provide cost forecasts and identify potential cost overruns, recommending corrective measures. • Prepare cash flow projections and assist in financial planning. • Maintain cost databases and update market rates regularly. 3. Contract Administration • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and administering contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. • Evaluate and process variations, change orders, and claims in accordance with contract terms. • Ensure all work complies with contractual, legal, and safety requirements. 4. Coordination & Reporting • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure accurate project costing. • Provide regular progress and cost reports to management and clients. • Support project teams in value engineering to optimize cost without compromising quality. ⸻ Qualifications & Requirements Education: • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field. • Professional certification (e.g., RICS, CIQS, AIQS, PICQS) is an advantage. Experience: • Minimum 3 years experience as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor in reputable construction companies. • Proven track record in cost estimation for mid- to large-scale projects (commercial, residential, or infrastructure). Skills & Competencies: • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing trends. • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, CostX). • Excellent numerical and analytical skills. • Strong negotiation and communication skills. • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. ⸻ Work Environment • Office-based with occasional site visits. • Regular interaction with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. • May require overtime during tender preparation periods.
