JOB SUMMARY:
The Quantity Surveyor ensures the financial success and viability of construction projects by managing costs, contracts, and risks throughout the project life cycle.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare initial and detailed budgets for construction projects. Assess the costs of labor, materials, and time, and ensure the project stays within budget.
- Tendering and Procurement: Prepare tender documents, help select contractors, and manage the bidding process. Analyze tenders and provide recommendations on contractor selection.
- Cost Control and Monitoring: Throughout the construction phase, monitor the actual cost versus the budget to ensure the project remains financially on track. Prepare regular cost reports and update forecasts as needed.
- Contract Administration: Assist in preparing contracts and ensure that the terms and conditions are met throughout the construction process. Deal with variations, claims, and disputes between clients and contractors.
- Measurement and Valuation: Measure and quantify materials, labor, and work done on-site to ensure that progress payments are accurate and justified.
- Risk Management: Assess potential financial risks and ensure that appropriate risk management strategies are in place to avoid budget overruns or delays. Monitor and ensure the acquisition of necessary construction insurance and bonds. This includes verifying that contractors have the required liability insurance, performance bonds, and other necessary coverage to safeguard the project against financial risks like damage, delays, or non-completion.
- Final Accounts: After project completion, help prepare the final account, ensure all costs are accounted for, and settle any outstanding issues between contractors and clients.
- Feasibility Studies and Cost Planning: During the early stages of a project, perform feasibility studies to assess whether a project is financially viable. Carry out value engineering to optimize cost-efficiency without compromising quality.
- Client Liaison: Communicate regularly with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to provide update on costs, budgets, and any potential financial concerns.
- Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all construction activities comply with local laws, building codes, and regulations, including safety and environment standards.
- Perform other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of Architecture, Engineering, QS or equivalent
- Member of PICQS is an advantage
- Must have at least three (3) years experience in construction projects with role as Quantity Surveyor in Real Estate, Housing and Land Development or equivalent
- Detail-oriented
- Knowledge in Project Management Principles
- Proficiency in relevant software (Autocad, Microsoft Office and Cost Management Software)
- Excellent in written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical and numerical skills

- Organized and time-management skills

Pay: Php20,000.00 - Php30,000.00 per month
