Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety and environmental management systems in accordance with DOLE, DENR, OSHC, and local LGU regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits across all company facilities and waste transport operations.
- Lead investigations for incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring proper documentation, root cause analysis, and preventive measures.
- Coordinate and deliver regular safety training, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills for all staff.
- Ensure proper documentation and submission of mandatory safety reports (e.g., Annual Medical Reports, OSH Programs, Waste Management Permits).
- Monitor and enforce compliance with R.A. 11058 (OSH Law) and relevant environmental regulations, including Ecological Solid Waste Management Act (R.A. 9003) and Toxic Substances and Hazardous and Nuclear Wastes Control Act (R.A. 6969).
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies such as DOLE, DENR-EMB, and LGUs during inspections and audits.
- Develop and implement safety KPIs and performance dashboards; submit regular reports to management.
- Promote employee safety engagement through committees, recognition programs, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, Safety Management, or any related field.
- Must be a Certified Safety Officer (at least SO2 or preferably SO3) as recognized by DOLE/BWC-OSHC.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in waste management, logistics, construction, or industrial services.
- Experience handling hazardous waste, landfill operations, or transport safety is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Philippine OSH and environmental laws and standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and people-management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems.
- Good command of both English and Filipino; other dialects are a plus.
- Willing to travel or be assigned across multiple sites or regions.
Working Conditions:
- Field-based work required in facilities, landfills, and during waste collection activities.
- May require occasional extended hours or weekend work depending on operational demands.
- Use of PPE is mandatory during field activities.
