Role Overview:
We are seeking a Special Needs Teacher to provide one-on-one academic support for children with special educational needs and to conduct regular classes for mainstream learners when required. The teacher will implement Finland Curriculum–aligned strategies, tailoring lessons to meet diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualised one-on-one sessions for children with special needs.
- Conduct regular academic classes for mainstream children, when assigned.
- Develop and implement lesson plans based on the Finland Curriculum.
- Monitor, document, and evaluate student progress, adjusting teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with parents, therapists, and the centre’s teaching team to provide holistic support.
- Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Participate in Finland Curriculum training provided by the centre.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or related field.
- Licensed Professional Teacher.
- Experience teaching children with special needs; experience in handling mainstream learners is a plus.
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and child development.
- Patient, compassionate, and adaptable in supporting children with varying abilities.
- Open to and willing to undergo Finland Curriculum training (With a 2 yr lock-in period).
